The Travelling Sisters are a comedy trio from Brisbane, Australia. Creating their own flavour of sketch comedy they combine physical and musical comedy with contemporary clown and ridiculous characters with a touch of the absurd, The Travelling Sisters are a bloody good time.
The Travelling Sisters are a comedy trio from Brisbane, Australia. Creating their own flavour of sketch they combine physical comedy, contemporary clown and original music, exploring the surreal of the real. It’s a sketch show with a whole lot of heart, treading the line between the beautiful and the grotesque, the idiotic and the profound, the whimsical and the downright ridiculous.
Lucy Fox, Laura Trenerry & Ell Sachs fell in love at The University of Southern Queensland and all went on to train with Philippe Gaulier in France. Moving to London in 2015, The Travelling Sisters performed at Edinburgh Fringe Festival for two years running, where they were an indie cult hit. Performing to packed houses with an ever growing following, they were named as one of The Guardian's Picks of The Fringe in 2016. They were also regional finalists in the Funny Women Stage Awards. While overseas they played to audiences in London and Berlin, at Prague Fringe Festival, Bedford Fringe Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Bath Comedy Festival and Clockenflap Festival in Hong Kong.
In 2017, Lucy, Laura & Ell set across Australia to perform their critically acclaimed show at Perth Fringe World, Adelaide Fringe Festival and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Their "constantly hilarious" (TheatrePeople) show was nominated for Best Newcomer at Melbourne International Comedy Festival. They finished their Australia tour in their home town Brisbane for Anywhere Theatre Festival. They are currently writing a fresh new show to be debuted at Melbourne Fringe Festival in September as well as their first web series to be released next year.
